Central Mississippi, Inc. participated in various community outreach activities, including a Community Transportation Day, Conflict Resolution Workshop, Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, Donuts and Coffee with the Community, and a Christmas Parade. The activities are within the seven-county service area and include the community (clients, elected public officials, and community advocates).

Night of Elegance

CPR Training for Drivers

Last month, CMI took a powers step toward community safety by hosting a CPR training session for our drivers. The hands-on session provided essential lifesaving skills that could make the difference in an emergency! Thank you to Helping Hands CPR for providing the excellent training.

Foster Parent Resource Event

CMI was honored to be invited by the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services to set up a booth and speak with foster parents about how we can support their families. We’re committed to providing resources, encouragement, and community connections to those who care for our most vulnerable children. Thanks MDCPS for the invite!

Over 60 Celebration

On May 27, 2025, the CMI team was honored to participate in the North Central Planning and Development District’s Over 60 Celebration held at the Andrew McQueen Jr. Civic Center in Greenwood, MS. We joined an inspiring community of seniors, partners, and local leaders in celebrating the accomplishments, stories, and vibrant spirit of our region’s elders. CMI is proud to support such a meaningful initiative that highlights the contributions and vitality our older citizens. A huge thank you to NCP&DD for organizing this fantastic event.

SEE Us Shine Day

CMI had an amazing time celebrating SEE Us Shine Day on May 31st at Whittington Park. This special event, held in partnership with the New Stone Street Baseball and Softball League, brought families, youth, and community leaders together for a day of fun, empowerment, and connection. From exciting games to community resources and uplifting conversations, the day was all about highlighting the potential in our young people and reminding them to keep shining-on and off the field! Thank you to everyone who made it a success!

CommUNITY Action Day in Greenville

CMI hosted an incredible CommUNITY Action Day in Greenville. The agency distributed 500 food vouchers, bringing smiles and relief to so many families in need.

Thanksgiving

Just in time for Thanksgiving, CMI worked alongside Shared Health in providing resources and sharing smiles as well as giving away Walmart gift cards to 200 Leake County residents in the City Hall.

Walmart Gift Card Distribution in Attala County

CMI distributed Walmart gift cards to their elderly and disabled clients in Attala County.

48th Annual Mississippi Public Transit Association (MPTA) Conference

At the 48th Annual Mississippi Public Transit Association (MPTA) Conference, Dr. Pamela Gary received the distinguished Humanitarian Award for her remarkable dedication to providing clean running water to the Schlater area and improving lives in the community. Similarly, Mr. Kenderick Cox was honored as the Transportation Manager of the Year, recognizing his exceptional leadership, commitment, and contributions to the transportation industry.

Fun Outing at Walmart and Spain’s Grocery Store

CMI took the seniors on a fun outing to Walmart and Spain’s Grocery Store in Grenada. They explored the aisles, picked out some goodies, and shared lots of laughs.

Community Appreciation Day in Leake County

CMI celebrated Community Appreciation Day in Leake County with their new wonderful commUNITY members. From fun activities to heartfelt conversations, it was a day filled with joy and gratitude.

Community Appreciation Day in Holmes County

The agency celebrated Community Appreciation Day in Holmes County. There were fun activities and delicious food catered by Brittany Marshall, Three Kings Kitchen.

Community Appreciation Day in Attala County

CMI held a Community Appreciation Day in Attala County. The turnout was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying the festivities. There was also brunch for the attendees.

Community Appreciation Day in Grenada County

Central Mississippi, Inc. held a Community Appreciation Day in Grenada County. It was a day of fun and food.

Dr. Gary received the Biden Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Pamela Gary, CEO of Central Mississippi Inc., was given the prestigious Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award! The event was held at The Guest House at Graceland.

Community Transportation Day

Central Mississippi, Inc. applied for and received a transportation grant for three of our counties: Carroll, Grenada, and Montgomery. The grant will allow the agency to provide transportation to eligible elderly, disabled, and disenfranchised clients at a reduced or no cost.

Domestic Violence Workshop

Domestic Violence affects everyone in one way or another. You or someone you know could be the recipient of this issue. It is crucial that everyone is aware of how to seek assistance, and more importantly, how to defend themselves. This class was open to staff and the community and was a very enlightening experience.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Cancer is a deadly disease and it affects us all. CMI recognizes that and attempts to assist in any area.

Donuts and Coffee with the Community

The agency enjoyed talking and drinking cocoa with the clients and the rest of the community. The clients discussed issues and were able to ask questions concerning the services the agency provides. Open communication is key to the sustainability of any successful organization.

Christmas Parade

The agency participated in the Christmas parades in Winona, Mississippi, and Vaiden, Mississippi.
